How do I get to Kent JMC?

The Kent JMC offices and classrooms occupy portions of two buildings: Taylor Hall and the Music and Speech Center. The School's main offices are in room 130 (first floor) of Taylor Hall. Kent JMC's electronic media offices are in room 102 (first floor) of the Music and Speech building. Both buildings are centrally located on the Kent State University campus, which is easily accessible from northeast Ohio's major interstate highways, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, and Akron-Canton Regional Airport.

From I-90

Proceed toward Cleveland. Take I-271 south to I-480 east. Stay on I-480 east until it becomes Route 14 in Streetsboro just beyond the interchange with I-80 (Ohio Turnpike). Go past Route 303 to Route 43. Turn right (south) on Route 43 and continue south for approximately six miles until you come to the traffic light at East Main Street in Kent. Turn left (east) onto East Main Street and follow East Main to the seventh traffic light. Turn right (south) onto Midway Drive (entrance to Kent State University). If you are going to the Music and Speech Center, turn left onto Theater Drive (the first stop sign). The Music and Speech Center is the second building on the left side of Theater Drive. You may park in the lots in front of on the east side of the Music and Speech Building. If you are going to Taylor Hall, stay on Midway Drive. About a block passed the intersection with Theater Drive turn right into the parking lot, which is immediately in front of Taylor Hall, a five-story, gray structure with columns. The main entrance to the Kent JMC offices is on the right side of the building as you face it from the parking lot. Parking in the spaces without meters requires a parking permit, which can be obtained from the Kent JMC offices.

From I-80 (Ohio Turnpike)

Use exit 187/13 (Streetsboro). After the toll booth, proceed straight (follow Ravenna sign) onto Route 14 traveling southeast. Go past Route 303 to Route 43. Turn right (south) on Route 43 and continue south for approximately six miles until you come to the traffic light at East Main Street in Kent. From Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

Take I-480 east until it becomes Route 14 in Streetsboro just beyond the interchange with I-80 (Ohio turnpike), then follow the above driving instructions from I-80.

Alternate Toll Route: Take I-71 south to the interchange with I-80 (Ohio Turnpike). Go east (toward Youngstown) on I-80 to exit 187/13 (Streetsboro), then follow the above driving instructions from I-80. This route is about the same distance as the I-480 route, but it is often faster during morning and evening rush hours.

From I-76

Take the Kent/Route 43 exit (exit 33) and proceed north on Route 43 (Water Street) to the intersection with Route 59 (in the City of Kent). Turn right (east) on Route 59 (the Haymaker Parkway connects Route 59 to Main Street). About a mile from the Route 43 and Route 59 intersection, turn right (south) onto Midway Drive (entrance to Kent State University).
