Ann Schierhorn teaches newspaper and magazine reporting, writing and editing, magazine publishing and magazine design. She is adviser to The Burr magazine and the CyBurr, an online magazine.

Education: B.S.J. and M.S.J., Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.

Professional experience includes Sunday magazine editor, Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle, suburban editor, Rochester Times-Union, and editor-at-large and writing coach, Iowa City (Iowa) Press-Citizen.

Research interests: Newsroom creative teams and collaborative storytelling. Also serves as a writing coach for newspapers and magazines.
