Jeanette Drake, Ph.D., APR, brings to Kent 21 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate public relations and education.

She spent the past eight years building a public relations program at The University of Findlay, where she launched the school's first PRSSA chapter that went on to earn two national Teahan awards within its first three years. Findlay students consistently identified her as “someone who made a difference.”

Prior to teaching, Drake directed public relations activities for 13 years for various organizations in Columbus, Ohio, including the YMCA of Central Ohio, The Ohio State University and two major real estate development firms.

Research interests include framing and public opinion, environmental communication, citizen advocacy, social marketing, corporate social responsibility and public relations pedagogy. She presents regularly at national conferences and has been published in several books, including a textbook chapter this year about ethics in organizations. Drake teaches courses in the new public relations master’s program.
