I started shooting in 96 when I joined the teen page at the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, Oh. There I was fortunate enough to find the guidance and mentoring that helped lay a solid foundation from which to build a career. After I came back from my first internship, in Washington DC, one of my first tasks was to declare a photojournalism major at KSU.

What came after was by far the biggest learning experience of my life. I interned at the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Akron Beacon Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. I finally collected my diploma from KSU in May of 2002 and I am currently working as a staff photojournalist at The New Mexican in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was Student Photographer of the Year in 99 and runner up in 2000. I got the Murray Powers Award on my first and my last semester at Kent. I also received an Award of Excellence for spot news from CPOY in 2001. But in my opinion my biggest accomplishment so far has been creating KPA. View Images.
