Storie Judge: Bruce Zake

After looking at the stories that were submitted for the 03-04, I think that this set of stories lacked the same enthusiasm that the previous batch of stories displayed.

Overall there are some nice single images, but for the most part, none of these are picture stories, but collections of images with a similar theme. I wish there were more images and thus better images in all of the stories.

There seems to be loose themes running through the stories rather than a true story line. All of you needed to work more closely with your subjects to work the images and your stories.

•About 3,500 to 5,000 homeless people come through Santa Fe every year.
•That number is normal for a city five times the size of Santa Fe.

The sound of heavily-modified V8s mixes well with smell of beer and carnival food. Some come for the race and others come to socialize, but all make a unique sect of society. This is not about driving fast and turning left for hours on end, but more about a cultural examination.
